Email Templates

There are 6 types of email in CM Gift Card:

• Sent to the gift card sender when the order is completed.
• Sent to the gift card recipient to deliver an electronic gift card.
• Sent to the gift card sender when an electronic gift card has been sent to the recipient.
• Sent to the gift card sender when an order is placed with the Bank Transfer payment method.
• Sent to the administrators when a physical gift card is ordered.
• Sent to the administrators when an order is placed with the Bank Transfer payment method.

You can compose their content in the Email Templates section.

To edit an email template, click on its subject.

At the bottom of the page, you see the list of available tags that you can insert into the email subject and body. These tags are replaced with the actual information before the email is sent. For example, {order_amount} is replaced with the order’s amount, such as $50.00.

If you need a tag that is not in the list, a developer can add it with a small Joomla plugin. The plugin listens to the onCMGCPrepareMailTags event and tells CM Gift Card what to put in place of your own tag, for example {shop_name}.
