Email & Invoice

• Send A Copy Of Email To Administrators: If you enable this option, administrators receive a copy of the order email that is sent to the customer after the purchase is completed.

• Prefix For Copied Email’s Subject: If you send a copy of the customer’s order email to administrators, you can use this option to add a prefix to the email subject. This makes it easy to filter these emails in your inbox.

• Attach PDF Invoice To Order Email: Attach a PDF invoice for the customer’s order to the email sent to them.

• Invoice Template: Design your invoice template using HTML and CSS.

  You do not have to start from nothing. Click Sample to see a ready-made design, then copy it into the editor. Click Preview to open the design in the editor as a web page, filled in with example order details, so you can see it before you sell anything.

  The invoice is sent as a PDF, so lay the page out with tables: the PDF library does not support flexbox or CSS grid. Use inline style attributes too, because a <style> block is removed when you save, unless you are a Super User.

  You can use the following tags in the template. They are replaced with the actual information when the invoice is generated:

  • {customer_name}: Customer’s name
  • {customer_email}: Customer’s email address
  • {customer_address_1}: Customer’s address line 1
  • {customer_address_2}: Customer’s address line 2
  • {customer_address_3}: Customer’s address line 3
  • {customer_postal_box}: Customer’s postal box
  • {customer_city}: Customer’s city
  • {customer_state}: Customer’s state
  • {customer_postal_code}: Customer’s postal code
  • {customer_country}: Customer’s country
  • {order_number}: Order number
  • {order_date}: Order’s completion date, or its creation date
  • {payment_method}: Payment method’s name
  • {transaction_id}: Transaction ID
  • {order_items}: List of order items

{order_items} is replaced with the HTML code of the order item list. This HTML code is generated from the file /administrator/components/com_cmgiftcard/layouts/invoice_items.php. To customize this HTML, go to the folder /administrator/components/com_cmgiftcard/layouts and copy the file invoice_items.php to invoice_items_custom.php. You can then modify the code in invoice_items_custom.php to suit your needs, and the code of this file is used to generate the HTML of the order item list.
